ECP constitutes DVECs to enhance awareness about women vote casting.
ISLAMABAD -- The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has constituted 102 District Voters Education Committees (DVECs) for enhancing awareness and motivating women voters to cast their vote.
According to ECP, the main aim of constituting DVECs was to bridge over 10 million gap between male and female voters.
The DVECs would be headed by respective District Election Commissioners and members including representatives of DC or DCO, Social welfare,local government, education, health, political parties.
The one month training of committees would culminate on October 20.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has started preparations of printing ballot papers and updating electoral rolls for holding General Elections in 2018.
Over 200 million ballot papers of National and Provincial Assemblies would be published for next general elections. Printing Corporation of Pakistan has the capacity to publish over 130.50 million ballot papers in only 20 days while Pakistan Post has the ability to print 100 million ballot papers in 20 days.
The Chief Election Commissioner has decided to avoid printing ballot papers of not having receipt numbers.
The ECP has already completed the first phase of verifying electoral rolls in door-to-door campaign, whereas the second phase of displaying Electoral Rolls in over 11,000 display centres would culminate on October 10.
