ECHO paper boy saves pensioner.
Michael Trevor,13, was delivering in West Derby when he noticed pensioner Gladys Ward had not taken in her paper from the night before.
He raised the alarm and within minutes Gladys, who had been lying semi-conscious on the floor, was on her way to hospital.
He said: ``I have been doing my round since Christmas and I knew Gladys lived a lone. I thought something could be wrong.
``I could see her post was still there She always takes in her paper and there was no answer at the house.''
Gladys was today recovering at Fazakerley hospital.
A spokesman for Merseyside Ambulance Service said: ``Michael saved valuable time in raising the alarm and has given Gladys a much better chance of recovery.
``Who knows how long she would have been on the floor of her house for if he hadn't spotted something was wrong.''
Michael's mother Anne,46, said:``We are very proud of him. But he's just that sort of boy.''
