Global Banking News - 23 November 2018

Peter Praet, chief economist with the ECB, has rejected talk that banks could get an immediate funding round.

Talking to German daily, Handelsblatt, Praet said it is too early to decide on a new round of multi-year loans to banks. Praet said that banks are covered by existing funding until the middle of next year.

There had been rumours that a new Targeted Longer-Term Refinancing Operation (TLTRO) would start soon.
