EC plea in SC over Gujarat cash seizure.
THE Supreme Court on Friday decided to take up an appeal by the Election Commission ( EC) against a Gujarat High Court order quashing the poll panel's order on seizure of cash over ` 2.5 lakh in transit during assembly elections in the state.A bench presided over by Justice D. K. Jain agreed to take up the matter for consideration on Monday but not before raising questions on the decision by the poll panel.
The poll panel had approached the apex court against the November 9 HC judgment quashing its order on a PIL by Bhagyoday Jan Parishad and Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
