EBMUD SAVES $1 MILLION ON LOW-INTEREST BONDS

 OAKLAND, Calif., July 14 /PRNewswire/ -- The East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) sold $44.4 million of Wastewater System general obligation bonds last week at a 5.507-percent interest rate, saving $1 million by refinancing bonds issued in 1986 at higher interest rates.
 The sale also included $16.2 million in additional Water Pollution Control Bonds, representing the last portion of a funding approved by voters in 1970.
