It might not get the media attention and awards that some of the other stars get, and some critics may say its performances are wooden, but there's no denying Trina's tree has been at the heart of the drama on EastEnders for the past few months.

Sometimes it felt like barely a week went by without someone threatening to dig it up, only to change their mind at the last minute - usually thanks to an intervention by Lucas. But now the tree has been uprooted, and the preacher's grisly secret looks set to be uncovered.

Liz is overwhelmed with grief when the police arrive to tell her that the body found in the middle of the Square may be Owen, but it's Denise, right, who has the most surprising reaction when Lucas decides to make a confession.

Elsewhere, Glenda appears to have found the sure-fire root to Roxy's heart - free-babysitting - but jealous Peggy is hatching a fiendish plan.

Ryan finds that Janine may not be quite the hard-faced, flint-hearted minx that she likes to make out and, following his recent grisly discovery, Leon opens up to Zsa Zsa about his mother's death.
