Getting through Monday is hard enough for most of us, so half an hour watching Albert Square's finest tearing strips off one another can be therapeutic.

One pregnant woman recently revealed that the only time her unborn baby settles down is when the opening theme to the Beeb's soap is played - as she takes things easy for 30 minutes, so does the baby. It's just a pity that Lucy, right, hasn't got a favourite doom-laden soap to settle down to as her pregnancy is stressing her out, and Jane is putting all of her energy into keeping her comfortable.

Let's face it, living in a square where murder and mayhem are the norm is not the most conducive environment to raise a child in.

Even birthday preparations for Ben and Peggy are causing no end of friction as the Mitchells bicker over Ronnie's invite.

And Shirley is embarrassed when she accepts Phil's offer of marriage without him actually proposing. Oops!
