 EAST COAST'S LARGEST ANNUAL MANUFACTURING EXPOSITION
 OPENS TUESDAY IN WEST SPRINGFIELD, MASS.
 WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass., May 18 /PRNewswire/ -- EASTEC '92, the East Coast's largest annual manufacturing exposition, opens at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, and runs through 5 p.m. Thursday, May 21, at the Eastern States Exposition Center in West Springfield.
 Sponsored by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), the American Machine Tool Distributors' Association (AMTDA), and The Association for Manufacturing Technology (AMT), EASTEC, now in its 13th year, is recognized as the foremost showcase for the metalworking/ manufacturing industries. Show officials expect to attract 13,000 manufacturing managers and engineering specialists from throughout New England.
 The three-day event features over 300 international manufacturing equipment builders and regional distributors demonstrating automated machine tools, quality control systems, precision cutting tools, material handling equipment, fabricating machinery, plus assembly, design, and finishing technologies. More than 150 product categories are represented.
 Among the New England-based companies exhibiting at the show are: DoALL Boston Company, Walpole, Mass.; Rex-Cut Products, Fall River, Mass.; Sunnex, Inc., Needham, Mass.; Vermont Gage, Swanton, Vt.; Lovejoy Tool Company, Springfield, Vt.; Manufacturers Technologies, Inc., West Springfield, Mass.; L.S. Starrett Company, Athol, Mass.; Compumachine, Inc., Wilmington, Mass.; Automation Components, Needham, Mass.; A-B Lasers, Inc., Acton, Mass.; Electrodes Incorporated, Milford, Ct.; Grinding Technology, Inc.; Shelton, Ct.; Franklin Manufacturing, Norwood, Mass.; and New England Machine Tools, Newington, Ct.
 Three days of SME-sponsored technical training courses run concurrently with the EASTEC '92 exposition. The program is conducted by leading industry experts and highlights up-to-date topics such as modern grinding technology, manufacturing plant layout, and high-speed precision stamping and die technology. All 13 courses take place at the Sheraton Springfield Monarch Place Hotel.
 Show hours at the Eastern States Exposition Center are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday, May 19; 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 20; and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday, May 21.
