EARLY RETURNS SHOW BIG BOY LEADS BUSH AND CLINTON
WARREN, Mich., Sept. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Just three weeks after

announcing his candidacy, Big Boy has surged ahead of George Bush and Bill Clinton in the presidential race.
The legendary restaurant figure has received 54 percent of the total votes nationwide. Bush and Clinton are running neck-and-neck, each with just under 24 percent of the vote. Bush leads Clinton by a narrow margin.
The election is part of the "Big Boy for President" campaign which began Sept. 1 and runs through Oct. 10. At nearly 600 participating Big Boy restaurants nationwide, customers are able to choose from among the three candidates using mock presidential ballots that are placed in mock voting booths inside each restaurant. Customers of all ages can vote as often as they wish for the candidate of their choice. No purchase is necessary.
"We're not surprised that preliminary tallies indicate Big Boy will be the winner," said Tony Michaels, vice president of marketing for Big Boy Restaurants, Inc.
"We know we have a strong candidate who stands for strong values -- dining values and family values.
"We're pleased by the public's response to the election so far and anticipate a landslide victory for Big Boy," added Michaels.
Anticipating a Big Boy victory, what changes does Michaels foresee on the national scene? "First, we'd paint the White House in a red-and- white checkered pattern. Of course, the only food served on Air Force One would be the original Big Boy double-decker hamburger.
"As far as Big Boy's personal life is concerned, Dolly would be the first lady and Nugget would be the 'first dog,'" said Michaels.
Another part of the Big Boy for President campaign is a national contest for fourth-, fifth- and sixth-grade students at 13,000 elementary schools. Students will submit short videos on the theme, "How to be a Great President." One video entry will be accepted from each school. Deadline for entries is Oct. 10.
