EARLE PALMER BROWN TO HANDLE OPENING OF FILENE'S BASEMENT'S FLAGSHIP STORE IN DOWNTOWN PHILADELPHIA

 PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Earle Palmer Brown Public Relations has been named by Filene's Basement to coordinate promotions, events and public relations for the grand opening of its flagship Delaware Valley store at 1608-12 Chestnut St. in Philadelphia.
 The Boston-based retailer known for originating the off-price shopping concept in 1908, is opening its doors downtown on Nov. 3. Earle Palmer Brown will assist with media relations.
 Staffing for the new store was completed last week at a job fair at Liberty Place, where 100 employees were hired to help Center City shoppers take advantage of brand name and designer labels at 30 to 60 percent below department store prices. More than 2,000 residents of the Delaware Valley lined up to apply for the positions.
 The new store will bring the number of Filene's Basements in the Delaware Valley to five, and the number nationwide to 54.
