E-SYSTEMS MONTEK DIVISION RECEIVES $1.4 MILLION CONTRACT FOR OIL EXPLORATION SEISMIC SOUNDING TOOL

DALLAS, Aug. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- E-Systems Montek Division located in Salt Lake City, Utah, received a $1.4 million contract from Sandia National Laboratories, Albuquerque, N.M., for the development and fabrication of a prototype seismic sounding tool that will revolutionize the science of oil exploration and recovery by mapping the earth's underground strata. This newly developed system will generate seismic signals in one well, then send these signals to wells 1,000 or more feet away, at depths up to 20,000 feet.
In cooperation with Sandia, Los Alamos, Chevron, Conoco and Pelton, E-Systems will design and demonstrate a tool which will introduce much greater, yet nondestructive energy into the earth for use in cross well seismology.
After a three-year development effort, followed by testing, total sales potential for this new high-technology product could exceed $100 million by providing equipment and support which will enhance the discovery and development of additional crude oil reserves in the United States and abroad.
Sandia National Laboratories is a U.S. Department of Energy multiprogram national laboratory with broad-based research and development programs contributing to national defense, energy, environmental technologies and economic competitiveness.
 E-Systems, Inc.
