E! ENTERTAINMENT TELEVISION AND NBC NEWS CHANNEL JOIN FORCES TO PROVIDE DAILY ENTERTAINMENT NEWS TO NBC AFFILIATES

 LOS ANGELES, Sept. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- E! Entertainment Television and the NBC News Channel are joining forces to provide NBC affiliates with daily entertainment reports, it was announced jointly by Robert Horner, president of NBC News Channel, and Lee Masters, E!'s president and chief executive officer. This will be an exclusive arrangement between E! Entertainment Television and the NBC News Channel.
 Beginning Oct. 25, E!'s News Department will provide the 209 NBC affiliates and "NBC Nightside" with a daily, 90-second entertainment news report anchored by E!'s on-air talent. In addition, E! will provide story elements such as voice-overs, B-roll and reporter packages. Each Friday, a 1-minute, 45-second "week in review" report will be fed to the NBC News Channel for stations' use on weekend newscasts.
 According to Masters, "E! is thrilled to be a part of NBC News Channel's excellent array of services. We look forward to introducing E! to a broad, new audience by offering what we do best: The most timely and comprehensive entertainment coverage around."
 Stated Horner, "With its widespread access to the Hollywood community, and a team devoted to entertainment 24-hours-a-day, E! is the leader in entertainment news coverage. Our affiliates want to offer their viewers up-to-the-minute coverage of the entertainment world; E!'s reports will allow them to do that."
 As part of the deal, E! will have access to NBC News Channel feeds, for possible incorporation into the network's nightly newscast, "E! News Daily." In addition to pulling stories from the daily feed, E! will work with the News Channel to request footage of specific entertainment events happening around the country, enhancing E!'s existing local news coverage.
 The NBC News Channel provides NBC affiliates with 24 hours of news daily. It is designed to provide both pre-packaged stories and custom live reports, using either the local affiliate's reporter or a News Channel correspondent. Stories include national and regional news and are produced both by the News Channel and by local affiliates. NBC News Channel crews are also dispatched to major breaking stories. The NBC News Channel also produces the national overnight broadcast, "NBC Nightside," as well as "Canal de Noticias NBC," a 24-hour Spanish- language news service seen in 19 Latin American countries.
 E! Entertainment Television is the only 24-hour basic cable network with programming dedicated to the world of entertainment. E! offers compelling celebrity interviews, talk shows, news, documentaries, behind-the-scenes, comedy, classic variety shows, movie previews, and the most comprehensive coverage of the entertainment industry's awards shows. Based in Los Angeles, E! is currently available to 25 million subscribers on 1,300 cable systems.
