Dynasil unit buys US optical thin-film coating maker.
27 June 2014 - US optical detection and analysis technology developer Dynasil Corporation of America (NASDAQ:DYSL) said its unit, Evaporated Metal Films Corp (EMF), had taken over optical thin-film coating maker DichroTec Thin Films LLC.
EMF has acquired substantially all of DichroTec's assets in exchange for about USD500,000 (EUR367,000) in cash and 700,000 Dynasil common shares, Dynasil said in a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
The acquisition will give EMF additional know-how and facilities to meet the needs of the optical coatings market, Peter Sulick, Dynasil's president, board chairman and CEO, stated.
DichroTec has its headquarters in Rochester, New York. As a result of the firm's takeover, EMF now has two centres of manufacturing excellence.
