Dynamsoft, a developer of TWAIN controls and components, today announced the addition of its .NET TWAIN to its portfolio of components.

The company said that the .NET TWAIN component, designed for use by developers using the Microsoft (Nasdaq:MSFT) .NET Framework to produce desktop scanning solutions, offers a rich set of features that can be used to build a natural, powerful scanning application.

The fully-managed component enables users to acquire images from any TWAIN compliant device, such as scanners and cameras, or load local images. After editing the images, users can save them to any local disk, web server file system or database. Dynamic .NET TWAIN supports Xcopy deployment, meaning that developers can simply copy a DLL file into their setup package, with no requirement for registration.

Dynamic .NET TWAIN supports managing images with the BMP, JPEG, PNG and TIFF formats. Its built-in PDF encoder/decoder enables extracting images from single and multi-page PDF files.

No pricing details were disclosed.
