Dynamic Web site for children and adults living with cystic fibrosis launched.

CFvoice.com addresses the educational, social, and emotional needs of people living with cystic fibrosis (CF), spanning from young children to independent adults, as well as parents and caregivers. The site utilizes Web 2.0 technologies, which enable visitors to watch streamed videos, download "widgets," and engage in interactive games--all customized for the CF community.

Cystic fibrosis, a genetic disease, affects more than 30,000 people in the United States. People with CF are susceptible to sharing harmful, drug-resistant bacteria amongst each other ("cross infection") and, therefore, have limited opportunities to get together. As a result, the Internet has evolved into a valued resource for information and social networking for the CF community.
