Dykes on Mics at Cabaret Room.

Byline: Nancy Sheehan

Oh, look Stanley. It's Dykes on Mics!!

OK. They're not that famous - yet. Comedy duo Leah Dubie and Amy Beckerman call themselves Dykes on Mics, and they have a mission: Fighting homophobia with hilarity. The New York-based comedians will carry the fight to Worcester for four shows at the city's newest hot spot, The Cabaret Room at 55 Pearl, Thursday and Friday.

Dubie (Tru TV, LOGO) and Beckerman (MTV, HBO) formed Dykes on Mics in 2007 and in two years have made an impact on the Northeast comedy scene. They were recently featured in the LOGO documentary "Out in the City," and their popular weekly show has been chosen by Time Out New York as a best bet around town. So, you could journey to Manhattan to see them, which would be fun, or you could swing by the Cabaret Room located in 55 Pearl, the restaurant at 55 Pearl St., Worcester, and use the driving time you save to get your hair blown out and tootsies pedicured before the show ... or something.

Show times are 7:30 and 10:30 p.m. both days. Tickets are $20, and reservations can be made by calling (508) 755-7327.
