Duryea leads Lane victory.

Byline: The Register-Guard

Matt Duryea pitched a three-hitter to lift Lane Community College to a 1-0 victory over Chemeketa Community College in a South Region baseball playoff game Sunday at Churchill High School.

With the win, the Titans (26-18) earned a berth in the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges Tournament in Longview, Wash., on May 26-30.

Duryea had 13 strikeouts and one walk to keep the Storm (18-23) in check.

Lane got its only run in the seventh inning when Tyler Brown laid down a sacrifice bunt and an errant throw let Kellen Hobie score from second base.

The Titans will open the tournament Thursday at 12:35 p.m. with a game against Everett, the top seed from the North Region.
