Durham enjoy a Cup that cheers! UNDER-15 CRICKET.
UNDER-15 CRICKET DURHAM eased to victory by 41 runs in a low-scoring ECB County Cup affair at Keswick Cricket Club, writes SAM BLACKLOCK.
Durham skipper Adam Khan lost the toss and Cumbria elected to field.
They struck early when Patrick Cooper was caught for nought with the scoreboard reading 3-1, followed soon afterwards by Sol Bell being caught for one.
However, a 51-run partnership from Adam Khan and Jonny Bushnell steadied the ship for Durham. Once Khan (30 from 76 balls) and Bushnell (21 from 48 balls) were out, Durham slumped to 104-7 - losing three wickets for no runs.
Jonathan Pears was the only real hope for Durham with 16 despite Sam North sticking around with eight from 37 balls.
Durham were bowled out for 126 in 46.3 overs.
Adam Shaw was the pick of the bowlers for Cumbria on his home ground - bagging 4-27 from 10 overs - while Billy Thompson claimed 2-10 from seven overs.
Cumbria started brightly, scoring 16 from their first over, but Aaron Feroz came to the rescue with a wicket in his first over and eventually took 3-23 from his 10 , the scoreboard now reading 37-2.
Four Cumbrian wickets went down for just 10 runs as Durham eventually eased home in 30.5 overs.
James Hindmarsh bagged 2-12 from nine overs while Elliot Hearn picked up 3-11.
