LOCAL History Month in Gateshead - `Gateshead's Hidden History' walk on Sunday, May 2, 2.30pm and Sunday, May 23, 11am leaving from Gateshead Visitor Centre. Walk lasts 1 1/2 hours. If you want to know where your can find Archimedes' head, beehives and Old Father Time in Gateshead, then this is the walk for you.

QUAYSIDE Walk, Monday, May 11, 1am leaving from Gateshead Visitor Centre. Walk lasts 1 1/2 hours. Find out about the history of this area, with a closer look at some of the exciting new developments taking place.

TALK - Art and Architecture of Death, Tuesday, May 4, 7pm, Shipley Art Gallery. Discover some of the strange and bizarre ways in which people are commemorated after their death. Dr Tom Yellowley, chair, Ryton Local History Society.
