Dubai-based Colombian singer Fatiniza at The Fridge.

Dubai-based Colombian singer Fatiniza has been working non-stop since her debut album 'Confusion' came out in 2010, launching her solo career as a husky-voiced pop rock artist.

She has even gone as far as self-financing her next album 'Nothing is Impossible', due out in November.

Fatiniza plays The Fridge in Al Quoz on Monday so we grabbed the fiery Latina for some quickfire questions:

Freeze - What will you be playing at The Fridge?

It will be a lovely and intimate gig where I am going to play my new stuff for the first time but in an acoustic way.

In your short career you have played for some high-profile guests, including golf superstar Tiger Woods and the AC Milan football team.

I'm nervous for every show, especially the intimate ones like in Colombia or The Fridge were I have the people right in front of me. I get so nervous you wouldn't believe it, I sweat a lot, shake and a need the toilet like three thousand times! I think if you don't feel nervous when on stage you're not alive and don't care what you are doing.

How will the new album differ for fans who warmed to the 'Confusion' album?

I think the new album is a new Fatiniza. No, actually I think it is a bold Fatiniza. It is very radio friendly, not too heavy to be heavy rock, not too soft to be 'poppy', so it's a good balance. The introduction of every song has an old, 'classic rock' feel and then new stuff comes in which gives it a fusion feel.

You've been compared to Shakira in the past but does the comparison leave you cold?
