Dubai-based CSR organisation schedules three-day Global Reporting Initiative training course to take place at Millennium Plaza Hotel for GRI-compliant organisations and sustainability professionals.

The Arabia CSR Network is holding a Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) training course titled 'GRI Standards for Sustainability Reporting' in Dubai to help organisations align their business practices with long-term global sustainability goals

Set to take place from 25 to 27 July, 2017 at the Millennium Plaza Hotel, the three-day training course will give attendees an understanding of the globally recognised GRI standards for disclosing their performance in areas of environmental, social, and governance.

The training course, which will be delivered through lectures, discussions, exercises and case studies, will also share the latest GRI standards for sustainability reporting.

Habiba Al Marashi, president and CEO, Arabia CSR Network, said: "As GRI's Certified Training Partner since 2011, we are the first in the region to introduce training courses based on the new GRI standards.

"This is a great opportunity for regional organisations to examine best practices and implement exceptional processes that will enable them to become better and more responsible companies."

"Developing regional CSR expertise and providing relevant training sessions are in alignment with our efforts to contribute to the ongoing shift of the UAE and the rest of the region to a knowledge- and innovation-driven economy."

Arabia CSR Network was the first accredited provider to conduct GRI training in UAE and GCC region.

Its GRI training comes amid an intensified rollout of sustainability initiatives across the Middle East as regional governments look to boost their sustainability credentials both for the purposes of domestic public relations and as a badge of honour on the global stage.

According to the Arabia CSR Network, the training will be of value to any organisations currently using the GRI guidelines to report non-financial performance, and particularly beneficial for writing teams, sustainability professionals, consultants and researchers.
