Dubai ruler approves new university for medicine and science in UAE.
New university will welcome its first 50 students in the next academic year
A universityfor science and medicine has been launched in the city.
The university was approved bythe Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, the Dubai health authority said.
Called Mohammad Bin Rashid University for Medicine and Health Sciences, the university will includetwo colleges, for both medicine and dentistry in Healthcare City.
There are also plans to specialise in subjects such as nursing, midwifery, pharmacy and public health in the near future.
The university will welcome itsfirst batch of students in the next academic year. A total of 50 students are expected to enrol at the college of medicine for the next academic year.
There will also be a number of postgraduate dental students enrolled at the university.
The authority also said it has plans for a university hospital which will be inaugurated in the near future without giving a definitive time.
