Dubai kicks off campaign to raise awareness on pest control.

Dubai: The pest control section of the Public Health Services Department at Dubai Municipality launched a campaign that aims to educate people on the correct methods of eliminating mosquitoes.

The campaign aACAyMosquito Free Dubai' was launched on Sunday with a lecture by Dalal Abdul Jabbar Salman, health education officer with the pest control section. Salman spoke about different types of mosquitoes found in Dubai, ways to eliminate them and practices that help spread their presence.

The five-day campaign also includes an awareness exhibition on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 10am in Al Manara and Karama centres of Dubai Municipality and Al Mamzar Health Centre of the Dubai Health Authority respectively. There will be one more lecture on Thursday, the last day of the campaign at 10.30am in The Princess Haya Bint Al Hussain Cultural and Islamic Centre, Al Mizhar, Dubai.

The exhibitions and lectures are open for all and gifts will be distributed to lucky winners from among the attendees.
