Dubai DoF launches Governmental Revenues Dashboard.

Dubai Department of Finance (DoF) has

launched a new project to improve revenue management for Dubai Government

departments.

The Governmental Revenues Dashboard will allow finance

managers and government heads to access all aspects of revenues, to enable more

informed decision making and planning.

The dashboard, which has been built using the Qlik Analytics

Platform, provides users with up-to-date, comprehensive information on government

revenue, along with analytics tools.

The dashboard was launched today at the Dubai International

Government Achievements Exhibition (DIGAE), by Abdul Rahman Saleh Al Saleh, Director

General of the DoF. The launch was attended by Humaid Al Qatami, Chairman &

Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority, Major General Mohammed Saad Al

Sharif, Assistant Commandant of Administration, Dubai Police and top DoF

officials.

"DoF followed innovative methods to design the features of the

system, aiming to enable DoF and government entities to analyse and monitor the

performance of government revenues, and take necessary actions to enhance the

overall financial performance," said Jamal Hamed Al Marri, Executive

Director of Central Accounts at DoF. "The dashboard is the first of its

kind across Middle East governments, and reflects DoF's success in pioneering

an innovative technological platform that supports the leading role that Dubai

and the UAE play in the regional and international government work, inspired by

the prudent vision of the UAE leadership.

"The launch of the Governmental Revenues Dashboard is in line

with DoF's constant pursuit of development and innovation in government

financial work, to make it easier for concerned revenue and finance officials

in all relevant entities to make the right decisions on enhancing and improving

revenue management," Al Marri added.

"Each government entity can access its own revenue numbers via

the dashboard which includes eleven analytical and benchmarking tools,"

explained Suad Al Sayed Sharaf, director of DoF's Public Revenue Division. "For

DoF officials, the system allows global access to all government revenue figures.

The dashboard also features custom pages providing executives with revenue

overview, analysis, measurement, and comparison capabilities, thus allowing a

display of revenues by type, and their year-on-year development. It also

identifies the top main and sub accounts in terms of revenue, compares revenues

across different financial periods, and conducts an analysis by revenue type."

The government revenue analysis feature of the dashboard

displays revenues of government entities categorised by revenue type, and

includes a function to analyse its development by type as well. A DoF user can

access the revenue data; conduct comparisons by main account, sector, or entity

in a selected financial period; and identify the top government entities and

accounts in terms of revenues.

Dubai DoF is the first government entity to use the Qlik

platform to build such a system across the Middle East. The platform is

web-based, enabling easy access from any device or platform, and has been

configured for fast response time.
