DuPont is presenting comprehensive and sustainable oil and gas solutions at the Middle East Oil & Gas Show (MEOS) 2009 in Bahrain.

The 16th edition of MEOS is being held from March 16 to 18 at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre.

DuPont is displaying several science-based, timely and value-adding products and services to address evolving global energy needs including clean technologies, high-performance materials, oil well productivity chemicals, personal protection equipment, pipeline solutions and safety management and consulting, said a statement.

"Our company is known as one of the first companies to focus on the environment and the evolution of the definition of sustainability as a core strategy," said Anil Menon, DuPont's oil & gas industry leader in the Middle East.

"DuPont uses 207 years of science to form the backbone of its innovations across all industries including oil and gas. Today, customers are facing highly competitive markets and tight economic conditions," he added.

"DuPont is a strategic partner, as it is a science company that can provide materials, engineering and chemical knowledge to develop solutions for an industry where increasing amounts of technology are needed to make oil extraction affordable and sustainable. Our goal is to collaborate with local oil and gas companies and continue to develop solutions that meet and exceed these challenges," Menon explained.

As the oil and gas industry strives to meet the increasing demand for efficient energy solutions, DuPont offers a wide range of highly specialised products and services that provide sustainable solutions worldwide.

To address the global demand for cleaner fuels and cleaner air, DuPont is helping refiners improve their environmental footprint without compromising productivity.

DuPont Clean technology solutions include Stratco clean fuel technologies, Belco clean air technologies and sulfuric acid regeneration.

Oil well productivity solutions take the form of high performance materials that address a range of needs and critical issues faced by the oil & gas industry.

Zonyl, a fluorosurfactant, provides unsurpassed surface tension reduction and can be used in combination with existing surfactants in well stimulation fluids for faster, more complete fluid recovery.

Tyzor organic titanates are used for drilling fluids and as a diverting agent to improve the recovery of oil & gas from production wells.

DuPont glycolic and polyglycolic acids ensure economical cleaning by providing low-cost metal complexing in a readily biodegradable form.

Other products in this category include anthium dioxide, which is used for control and abatement of poisonous and corrosive hydrogen sulphide gas and sulphate-reducing bacteria, and chlorine dioxide, a selective oxidiser for biofilm treatment, mainly for water facilities that are affiliated with a refinery or power/utilities plant.

In addition, DuPont piping solutions provide effective transportation of oil, gas and petroleum products that are fail-safe, timely, profitable and ecologically safe.

StreaMax coating for downhole tubes, tools and accessories provide flow assurance and corrosion protection in extreme environments at a wide temperature range.

While DuPont future energy applications offer a broad and growing portfolio of solutions to increase the efficiency of solar cells, wind energy and biofuels.

DuPont personal protection combines scientific innovation and manufacturing expertise to provide a comprehensive range of high quality protective clothing for thermal, mechanical and chemical protection to the oil and gas workers.

"One DuPont, a strategic concept, works together through an industry initiative offering integrated products and applications solutions to specific industries, for example food, construction, transportation and oil & gas," said Menon.

"DuPont has grouped its products and services to approach the oil & gas industry with a single offering. Apart from developing cutting-edge technologies, we want to make sure that our solutions are timely and value-adding. The MEOS provides an excellent platform for us to showcase DuPont science in helping oil and gas companies not only survive but thrive in the Middle East market," concluded Menon. -- TradeArabia News Service
