Druze must unite with Syrians: Abu Faour.

BEIRUT: Health Minister Wael Abu Faour called Sunday on the Druze community in Syria to reconcile with their countrymen in the Deraa province and rally around MP Walid Jumblatt.
"Wisdom calls for preserving national unity in Syria and preserving the national fabric in Syria. What Walid Jumblatt is doing is not meant to protect Syria's Druze only, but also to protect the national fabric in Syria because the regime will fall and a new and future Syria cannot but comprise all its components," he said.
"The only assistance for the Druze community in Syria is to call on them to reconcile [with Syria's Sunni majority] and rally around Walid Jumblatt's wise political leadership," Abu Faour added.
Jumblatt last week visited Jordan, where he met with King Abdullah as part of his efforts to help reduce tensions between the Druze and opposition militants in northwest Syria. The visit followed a deadly attack by Nusra Front militants that killed 25 Druze in the village of Qalb Lozeh in the northwest province of Idlib on June 17.
