Drunken man arrested for brandishing knife.

A 42-YEAR-OLD man was arrested on Monday night after police found him in a drunken state brandishing a knife in the streets.

The man, a Paralimni resident from Bulgaria was spotted shortly before 10pm by police that were on patrol duty on Korai street walking in the middle of the road in an obviously drunk manner.

In his left hand he held a penknife and once he realised police was at the scene he began to swear, brandishing the knife.

He was arrested on the spot and held in custody at the Ayia Napa police station.
