This reference provides concise information on drug interactions. Emphasis is on clinical relevance of data and on practical presentation. Each entry on an interaction lists known and possible interacting drugs and common trade names, and provides a rating on severity of the interaction. There are brief notes on pharmacological effects and clinical manifestations of the interaction, the mechanism by which it occurs, and recommendations for management, plus a brief review of published data and cases. Drugs are listed in the index by generic name, class name, and trade name, but not consistently. That is, every drug is not listed in the index under all three names, and the index is not divided into categories.
