Drug gang faces jail.

Byline: By Sonia Sharma

A gang of drugs dealers face prison after being snared by undercover police officers.

Ten people were picked up in dawn raids after months of surveillance work by Northumbria Police. They will be sentenced next week.

Alan Savage, the father of 19-year-old Gareth Savage who is facing jail, called on communities to work together more to prevent young people getting into drugs.

He said: "Communities will express anger and disgust at our son's dealing in misery, but few will be upright enough to search their own consciences and confess that they have done little personally to help stem their community's decline through alcohol and drugs."
