Drug dept. outsmarts any "clever" means of smuggling drugs - min.

KUWAIT, Aug 13 (KUNA) -- Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah praised efforts made by the drug control department to frustrate any attempts of smuggling narcotics into the country. Sheikh Mohammad made this remark, on Thursday, after a meeting with a number of officials from the drug department. He added that the drug control department always outsmarts smugglers who try to sneak these addictive substances onto the country through express mail packages or inside baseball bats. On August 3, the minister himself was able to abort a trafficking operation of 140 kilograms of hashish into the country at sea. (end) amn.nfm
