Drug cocktail killed addict.

An addict died after taking a lethal cocktail of drugs.

David Hillam, 24, of no fixed abode, died in a friend's house after taking methadone and anti-depressants.

Mr Hillam was being treated for depression and his friend had offered him a place to stay at Long Headlam, Byker.

But late at night Mr Hillam took some of his pal's methadone and was found dead the following morning on November 13, 2006.

Newcastle coroner David Mitford recorded a verdict of death by abuse of drugs.
