Driver trapped after collision.

A DRIVER was trapped in his vehicle by his injuries when his car was in collision with a skip lorry near the Birmingham City football ground.

Fireghters spent more than 30 minutes cutting the man free from the car following the crash at Cattell Road, in Small Heath, at about 11.10am yesterday.

A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said they were alerted to reports of the car being in collision with the lorry at the junction of Cattell Road and Bordesley Green Road.

e spokesman said: "e driver of the car was trapped by his injuries, Crews used two sets of cutting equipment to extricate the motorist.

"Appliances from Highgate, Billesley and Hay Mills with 13 reghters attended the scene and made it safe."

e casualty was taken to Heartlands Hospital in Birmingham by ambulance.

His condition and the extent of his injuries were not known.
