Driver died of injuries.

A driver was killed when she pulled out in front of a lorry at a busy junction, an inquest was told.

Sylvia Gaze, 55, died instantly when her car hit the lorry near the Nissan car plant in Washington.

Sunderland coroner Derek Winter was told the accident happened at the junction of Cherry Blossom Way and Nissan Way at 5.25pm last May 10.

Pathologist Dr Debra Milne said Mrs Gaze, of Crindledykes, Fatfield, died from multiple injuries.

Lorry driver Stuart Green said he tried to swerve out of the way but there was nothing he could do to avoid the collision.

Mr Winter recorded a verdict of accidental death.
