Driver 'hit by cyclist'.

A MAN has thanked a woman who came to his aid - after he was attacked in Fartown.

The man was assaulted after remonstrating with a cyclist who had apparently run into his car.

The victim, who did not want to be named, suffered facial injuries in the incident off Bradford Road on Wednesday morning.

He lost his phone and his house keys when he was pushed to the floor but a woman living nearby saw what happened and retrieved them for him.

"The man just went for me when I confronted him over the damage to my car. He hit me in the face and pushed me down on the floor, but I managed to push him off and he rode away.

"I drove off but realised I had lost my phone and keys, and when I went back I found a note at the scene telling me a lady had found them and put them safe outside a house."

Police are investigating the incident.
