Drive against QAU administration enters final phase.

ISLAMABAD, November 21, 2011 (Balochistan Times): Employees Welfare Association (EWA) has paced up drive against university administration as general body meeting has been called by the general secretary of the association today. According to sources out of twenty members of the executive body of the EWA seventeen members unanimously passed the resolution to conduct general body meeting in the administration block as part of the previously started drive against the irregularities of the registrar, who was backed up by the vice chancellor of the varsity. The source added that university administration and its allied functionaries who got benefits above the law using impropriate means to stop employees to participate in the general body meeting. To hold general body meeting is our democratic right and if this right would be snatched forcefully the responsibility of its results will be on registrar and the university administration, the source said. The issues of illegal appointments, promotions, ongoing corruption and violation of university rules for instance would be kept in front of employees during the general body meeting and the future course of action of EWA will be declared after consultation of the employees, the source said. Meanwhile, President EWA Syed Hassan Shah Kazmi and General Secretary Haroon Rashid Butt have appealed to the President Zardari, Prime Minister Gillani and Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to appoint a free and fair inquiry committee to probe ongoing indiscretions causing down fall of moral of high ranked university of the country. They have suggested that the inquiry body should take over the administrations control from the Registrar. Their foremost pray is to stop illegal appointments and promotions by the Registrar.
