Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream.
To support the launch of its Dreamery line of superpremium ice creams, Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream has created a special page on its website, www.dreyers-dreamery.com. In addition to product information, the site features The Dream Analyzer, described as a "fun and insightful way to interpret elements and symbols from your dreams," and the Dream Generator, a game for creating one's own dreams. A Flavor Finder will allow consumers to search by zip code for the supermarket nearest to them with the particular flavor of Dreamery they want. The extensive 18-flavor launch features Creme Caramel, Cuppa Joe, Grandma's Cookie Jar, Galactic Chocolate Swirl, Banana Boogie, Caramel Toffee Bar Heaven, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup, Chocolate Truffle Explosion, Cool Mint, Sticky Bun, Nuts About Malt, Blue Ribbon Berry Pie, Harvest Peach, Cashew Praline Parfait, Black Raspberry Parfait, New York Strawberry Cheesecake, Hot Chilly Chili, and Vanilla. The highly unusual Hot Chilly Chili, which features vanilla ice cream with a mole fudge swirl and spicy covered nuts, has gotten a substantial amount of the attention given to the new line. Dreyer's notes that the rollout of the new line, first reported in the August Ice Cream Reporter, is complete with Dreamery available "in almost every major supermarket retailer in the country." Pint containers carry a suggested retail price of $2.99-$3.49. The August issue of Frozen Food Age reports that Dreyer's is putting $30 million into an 18-month long campaign to support the launch of Dreamery line. The products are, of course, all available in the eastern half of the U.S. under the Edy's label, and the Dreamery webpage can also be reached through the www.edys-dreamery.com website.
