Dressy trees in Fresno, December 7 through 15.

Fresno's year-old Metropolitan Museum celebrates its own birthday as well as the holidays with "Illusions of Christmas," a display of some 20 Christmas trees decorated in many styles by artists, interior designers, and florists.

The trees will be on view December 7 through 15, and choral groups will perform intermittently. December 7 through 29, you can see a collection of handcarved miniatures from 1895--a whole village of room interiors and buildings. There will also be an exhibit of 50 toy trains, antique to modern.

The museum, at 1515 Van Ness Avenue, is open 11 to 8 daily except December 16 and 17, Christmas, and New Year's Day. Admission is $3, free for kids under 12.
