A football-mad Monklands schoolboy was the envy of all his friends when he was chosen to be a mascot for his favourite team.
And far from walking alone, Jack McPherson from Chapelhall took to the hallowed Anfield turf with his Liverpool heroes before their recent 4-0 win over Southampton.
It was a dream come true for the delighted six-year-old who, as well as being escorted on to the pitch by his favourite player, top defender Virgil van Dijk, even appeared on Match of the Day.
The Chapelhall Primary pupil has supported Liverpool since he was presented with his first strip by his uncle Craig.
Jack's parents Joanna and David, and gran Catherine, accompanied him on his Merseyside adventure.
Proud mum Joanna told the Advertiser: "Jack's mascot experience was fantastic; he was over the moon to walk out with his favourite player.
"He is mad about Liverpool and my brother Craig, who is a season ticket holder, takes him to at least four or five games a season. He just loves it.
"He loves football, but Liverpool is his team and he knows all the players' names."
Joanna said that the family were impressed by the way they were treated by the European and likely English Premier League champions.
She continued: "They gave Jack and the other mascots a brand new kit and also provided sandwiches and refreshments for them all, as well as a certificate, medal, and a bag of goodies to commemorate their day.
"The manager, Jurgen Klopp, also highfived them all before the players came out. "We have told Jack that we will put the strip in a frame with some photos so that he has something to remind him of his special day."
