Dragons on fire; SPORT SHORTS NETBALL.

TEAM Northumbria are still chasing an elusive second FIAT Netball Superleague victory after the Celtic Dragons became the latest franchise to complete the double over Tracey Neville's strugglers.

The Welsh team surged into a 22-7 lead after the opening period to kill off the game as a contest. And TN suffered injuries to North East duo Natalie Connor and Marie Ewing before mounting a brave rearguard action.

With Namibian shooter Toetse Kambatuku in fine form in front of goal the visitors won the final quarter. However, it was too little, too late as the Dragons completed a comfortable 67-40 win to enhance their own play-off prospects.
