DragonWave acquires Axerra Networks.

TELECOMWORLDWIRE-October 14, 2010-DragonWave acquires Axerra Networks(C)1994-2010 M2 COMMUNICATIONS

Canadian Press reported today that Ottawa-based DragonWave Inc (TSX: DWI), a telecoms equipment manufacturer, has acquired US-based Axerra Networks for USD9.5m.

Axerra's products include network gateways and access devices that can bridge the gap between a carrier's new and legacy devices.

DragonWave produce microwave radio systems equipment designed to move voice and data wirelessly between cell towers and networks. The company said that the all-cash purchase will open up additional markets.

If Axerra meets certain unspecified revenue targets, the acquisition could be value at USD15.5m over the next 16 months, according to the report.
