Speech solutions provider Nuance Communications Inc (Nasdaq:NUAN) unveiled on Monday Dragon Dictate for Mac v2.0, the newest addition to the Dragon family of speech recognition products.

According to the company, Dragon Dictate for Mac 2.0 improves on the accuracy and performance of MacSpeech Dictate 1.5, leveraging the new Dragon 11 engine. The new version offers a more streamlined set-up, redesigned Mac user interface and dynamic new voice commands for dictation, editing, navigation and proofreading.

The solution enables Mac users to turn talk into text, control the Mac in a hands-free manner and multi-task. The product can also be customised with a personal vocabulary and voice commands that reflect an individuala[euro](tm)s work style.

In addition to the voice commands that MacSpeech Dictate 1.5 already offers for controlling popular Mac applications, the Dragon Dictate for Mac 2.0 adds more ways to interact with the Mac by voice, including: Dragon Voice shortcuts for search; new editing commands; proofreading; surrounding punctuation; voice navigation; as well as the ability to switch switch between microphones within the same voice profile.

Dragon Dictate for Mac is priced at USD199.99. Existing MacSpeech Dictate customers and Dragon NaturallySpeaking customers can purchase Dragon Dictate for Mac starting at USD49.99 and USD99.99 respectively for a limited time.
