Dr. Morton Wiener, 88.

WORCESTER Dr. Morton Wiener, 88 died Wednesday, October 8th in the Jewish Healthcare Center.

He leaves his beloved wife of 67 years, Beatrice (Newman) Wiener; a son, Craig Wiener; two daughters, Meryl Bertenthal and Roberta Wiener and four grandchildren.

He was born in the Bronx, New York City a son of Aaron and Eva (Schwartz) Wiener and has lived in Worcester since 1957.

Dr. Wiener was an Army veteran of WWII having served in the Pacific Theater. He graduated City College of New York with his B.S in 1949 and received his M.S there in 1950. Dr. Wiener received his Doctorate Degree in Psychology from the University of Rochester in 1953. He was a professor of psychology at Clark University, having started there in 1957 and retired in 1991. Dr. Wiener also had a successful private practice and only retired recently. He was an accomplished author of two books and wrote numerous articles for many professional journals, as well as being a consulting editor to many of those same journals. For many years Dr. Wiener was a consultant to the Veterans Administration's psychological training programs.

He was a Fellow of the American Psychological Association, a Diplomat of the American Board of Examiners in Professional Psychology and a member of Phi Beta Kappa.

The GRAVESIDE FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 1PM on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 10TH in B'NAI BRITH CEMETERY on St. Johns Road in Worcester. Memorial observance will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472. Perlman Funeral Home, 1026 Main St. is directing the arrangements.
