Dr. K.P. Sreekumar--the new Registrar of KVASU.

Dr. K.P. Sreekumar took charge as Registrar, Kerela Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (KVASU) on 18th Oct' 2012. Prior to the same, he was working as Professor and Head (Academic & Research Co-ordination and International Co-operation), Veterinary Physiology, KVASU. Dr. Sreekumar has been instrumental in building partnerships of KVASU with eight internationally reputed Universities/Institutes till date. He is also the CPCSE nominee, GOI.

Dr. Sreekumar graduated from Kerala Agricultural University and PhD from University of Edinburgh; UK. He has 27 years of teaching, research and extension experience within India and abroad which includes three years at University of Edinburgh and two years at University of South Pacific, Fiji Islands. Dr. Sreekumar has guided 22 post graduate students and is accredited with 66 publications and 7 books /chapters. He has been a board member of University of South Pacific and Academic council member of Fiji School of Medicine, Govt. of Fiji Islands, South Pacific.

Dr. Sreekumar has contributed in elephant physiology, avian physiology, endocrinology, haematology,stress physiology and management, physiological effects of medicinal plants, growth and antidiabetic effect of natural molecules, mitigation of stress in chicken and promotion of growth using natural molecules, use of alternate feed source to reduce feed cost, improve production and mitigate pollution in birds and development of diabetic animal models and study the use of plant extracts as antidiabetic and antilipidemic drugs. We at Intas Polivet, wish him a successful administrative career ahead and hope that his expertise and experiences would help KVASU to gain newer heights.
