Dr. Jahan Bakht assumes charge as VC Swat University.

SWAT -- The Newly-appointed Vice Chancellor of University of Swat (UoS) Professor Dr. Jahan Bakht formally took over the charge of his new office on Tuesday.

Dr. Jahan Bakht was warmly welcomed by the Head of Departments, faculties, office-bearers of University of Swat, teachers' leaders as well as employees.

The officers, teachers and employees of the varsity greeted the Vice-Chancellor with rose flowers and presented bouquets to him.

After the retirement of former VC Dr Jahanzeb khan, Higher Education Department Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa appointed Dr. Jahan Bakht as new Vice Chancellor of University of Swat.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr Jahan Bakht said that he wanted to develop Swat University comprehensively so as to make it a model university in the country.

He said that his priority was to provide quality education to students in the varsity.

Dr. Jahan Bakht further said he wanted to create the best possible atmosphere for achieving excellence and he wanted to make the administration efficient, transparent and adaptable to e-governance.

Dr Hassan Sher, Director Botany Department, said that newly appointed VC Dr Jahan Bakht is truly an asset for us and competent to do more development for swat varsity.

It is pertinent to mentioned here that, Dr. Jahan Bakht is renowned educationist and Scientist of Pakistan.

He issued around 300 research articles during his career and under his supervision 92 students completed their M.Phil degrees, not only this he has also produced 30 PHD scholars.

He has served on various key posts in Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa Universities and known one of the good educationist and enjoying excellent reputation amongst the official circles.

The students of swat varsity were amused while the people of Swat expressed their well wishes for the newly appointment of Dr Jahan Bakht as VC of Swat university.
