Dr. Graham Battersby to head Precisia LLC.
Since its launch in 2003, Precisia has been in a seed stage, researching and assessing opportunities for traditional printing methods in non-traditional applications, specifically in the use of conductive inks for printed electronics.
A prime area of focus has been in the rapidly-developing radio frequency identification (RFID) market.
"As a result of this early work, Precisia has identified several opportunities for specific products and processes," said Dave Frescoln, Flint Ink's vice chairman and CEO. "Dr. Battersby's technical and product development background, coupled with his broad experience in inks and coatings, makes him an excellent choice to lead Precisia on a day-to-day basis in the start-up phase of its business evolution."
A Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry in the UK, Dr. Battersby joined Flint Ink as technical director for fluid ink research in 1999 and was promoted to vice president of research and development in June 2000. He was recently named chief technology officer of the company. His new role is in addition to his current duties.
Dr. Joseph Raksis, who served as chairman and CEO of Precisia until his retirement in December, will continue to be active on the company's external advisory board.
