Dr. Brandi E. Guthrey.

Dr. Brandi E. Guthrey has joined the Sparks Plaza Family Practice in Fort Smith. A graduate of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Guthrey previously worked as an intern at the Arkansas Area Health Education Center in Fort Smith. While at AHEC, she managed hospital floor patients and ER admissions, in addition to supervising and teaching other medical students. Dr. Michael Gooden has joined the team at Sparks as a general surgeon. Also a UAMS graduate, he has been serving as a staff surgeon for the 28th Combat Support Hospital in Baghdad where his work won him a Joint Service Commendation Medal, a Bronze Star and a Defense Meritorious Service Medal. He also earned an Expert Field Medical Badge, Basic Parachutist Badge and Combat Medical Badge. He will begin practicing at Sparks Aug. 2.

Rebecca Schlau is now practicing at St. Joseph's Mercy Clinic in the St. Joseph's Mercy Health System in Hot Springs. Schlau, a licensed clinical psychologist, has just completed a fellowship at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences' Reynolds Institute on Aging.
