Dozens of Civilians and Peshmerga Killed and Wounded In Attack Launched by Daash On Sinjar, West of Mosul.

Mosul / NINA / Dozens of Peshmerga forces and Yazidis civilians were killed and wounded in attacks launched by Daash on the district of Sinjar, 110 km north-west of Mosul, during the past 24 hours, according to a source in the Ministry of Peshmerga.

The source told the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / that "Sinjar was attacked in the early hours by 40 mortar shells landed inside the district, killing seven Yazidis civilians and wounding 11 others."

The source noted that "the district is also exposed to suicide bomb attacks on the outskirts of the district and Dumez Sinjar and also Tal Banat village of and Tal Kasab village." noting that" eight of the Peshmerga forces were killed and 22 wounded, including elements of the "PKK" which participate in protecting the district./ End
