Downtown Dubai to host daily shows.
The captivating show marks the coming together of distinctive elements - water, fire, music, multimedia projections and live performances, and made a lasting impression on the 1.7 million visitors to Downtown Dubai during the New Year's Eve celebration, a statement from Emr Properties said.
Set on Burj Lake, overlooked by the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building; and The Dubai Mall, the world's largest shopping and entertainment destination; the lake show is projected on a mega-screen, 210 metres long, and water platforms with semi-transparent screens.
The awe-inspiring show tracks a ball of energy traversing the world's myriad cultures to the accompaniment of especially composed music and fire-water spectacles at The Dubai Fountain. The seamless integration of the diverse elements makes it a must-watch spectacle, the statement said.
Celebrating the cosmopolitan outlook of Dubai, home to over 200 nationalities, the show demonstrates the vibrant energy that resonates in the city. It also pays rich tribute to the UAE's leaders for their farsighted vision in establishing the nation as a beacon of hope for people around the world.
In a fitting finale, the show demonstrates how the spirit of positivity, hope and camaraderie finds a befitting destination in Downtown Dubai, 'The Centre of Now', it said.
Ahmad Al Matrooshi, managing director, Emr Properties, said: "The 'Water, Fire & Light' show was one of the most talked about components of the Downtown Dubai New Year's Eve Gala. It was a true celebration of all the values that Dubai stands for, and by hosting the show through January, we are adding another must-visit attraction for residents and visitors, coinciding with the latest edition of Dubai Shopping Festival, the region's largest shopping and entertainment extravaganza."
In all, 79 artists from around the world were involved in the production of the show, which was specially produced by the team behind the Beijing and London Olympics, and New Year celebrations in Sydney.
The lake show, 'Water, Fire & Light' is in association with Emirates Airline, Etisalat and Samsung, with official partners Omega and Mercedes-Benz.
The $20 billion Downtown Dubai's attractions include At the Top, Burj Khalifa, the world's highest observation deck with an outdoor terrace; world-class residences and hotels; commercial offices and the Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, a 3.5 km boulevard lined with retail and food & beverage attractions.
