Dow to increase ethanolamines production.

Due to the increasing global demand for ethanolamines, The Dow Chemical Co., Midland, MI, has announced that it is evaluating a number of investment options to increase capacity of the product. Expanding an existing ethanolamines facility in Hahnville, LA, and adding ethanolamine capacity in the Asia Pacific region are two options Dow is considering. Currently, Dow's participation in the Asia Pacific region is in the form of a 75,000-metric ton ethanolamine unit at the OPTIMAL Chemicals Sdn. Bhd plant, which is a joint venture between Petroliam Nasional Berhad and Union Carbide Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dow.
