Douz: 10 countries take part in 2nd edition of mehari races.
(TAP)- The second edition of the mehari races in Douz started on Saturday, with the participation of a ten countries including Algeria, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and France.
Two competitions were held with the launch of the two-day festivities. The prize for the best mAaAaAeA@hari was won by Haouad Moussa Ahmed (Algeri and the prize for the best palanquin (jehfa in Arabic) won by Mokhles Ajjel (Douz, Tunisia).
On the second day of the festivities, a 42-km marathon is planned in the Sahara, in addition to races of 1,700, 3,400 and 5,100 meters.
Folkloric performances, photographic exhibitions and poetic games are also included in the programme. A symposium on investing in the sector of camelids stockbreeding will take place on Sunday at the initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture.
